What is the best advice you have ever received?
A prominent biostatistician once told me: “Never let perfect data be the enemy of good data.” I’ve found that piece of advice to be very useful throughout my career working to turn available health care data into meaningful insights that help decision makers make more impactful, intelligent, and evidence-based decisions.

What personal motto or mantra best aligns with you or your company’s culture?
Our company’s tagline is “Actionable Insights for Better Healthcare.” This aligns with my personal mantra that actionable intelligence resides within most healthcare datasets. The key is knowing how best to mine it in order to derive the best information that can be put to good use.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Knowing that the insights we provide to our clients enable them to make a difference in people’s lives is very gratifying to me. Given how costly the U.S. care delivery system is, it is rewarding to be able to help our clients manage healthier patients at a lower cost.

What are you most excited to build upon over the next 12 months?
I’m most looking forward to capturing the hospital market for population health management. While our solutions were developed with an initial focus on the health care payer industry, the problems and challenges we address transcend all areas of healthcare. I look forward to HDI playing a much bigger role within hospitals.
